Before we get started

A few useful answers.

What to expect when planning a custom spreadsheet project.

Google Sheets or Excel—which should I choose?

It depends on your workflow. Google Sheets suits shared, browser-based work. Excel can suit desktop workflows or existing Excel processes. We can agree on the right format before starting.

Can you improve an existing spreadsheet?

Yes. Share a description of the issue and, when appropriate, an anonymized example. We can assess whether a repair, enhancement or new structure makes sense.

Are the portfolio projects client work?

They are independent demonstrations using fictional data. They show spreadsheet functionality and design, without claiming client results.

How are price and delivery time agreed?

Scope, price, milestones, delivery time and revision terms are agreed before work begins. They depend on the complexity and any required integrations.

Will I be able to update the spreadsheet?

The aim is a clear handover with identified input cells and usage notes. Any ongoing maintenance or support is agreed as part of the project.

Can a spreadsheet connect to another service?

Often, but service access, permissions, limits and potential costs need to be reviewed first. No paid integration is added without agreement.

Should I send passwords or confidential records?

Please do not send passwords, authentication tokens or sensitive customer records through an inquiry form. Use anonymized examples during the initial discussion.
